- Craneware is looking for a Senior Technical Writer who is excited about turning complex instructions into easily-understood content which can be communicated clearly, accurately, and comprehensively to their intended audience whilst also ensuring that the work is accessible to its users.
- As part of our close-knit documentation team, you will work to create and edit end-user documentation for our range of software products, enabling our end-users to easily carry out their day-to-day tasks. You will take responsibility for empowering teams to self-organize and align with sprint goals and deliver user-focused documentation.

- Working independently, but alongside peers and cross-functional team members, to write and publish end-user product documentation and other content to support software releases. Content includes (but is not limited to) user guides, online help, reference guides, release notes, error messages.
- Planning, organising, and writing product documentation, usually independently, with peer reviews from technical writing team as well as technical reviews from the delivery team.
- Identifying the requirements for, and producing, related release collateral, such as release notes, installation notes, FAQs, error messages, in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Defining and implementing an appropriate structure for the documentation of individual products, or for related products within a defined product area.
- Creating clear, concise, visually attractive and easy to understand documentation and, if possible, tests with users.
- Researching product updates from a variety of source materials (e.g. TFS, refinements, cross-functional meetings, face-to face meetings).
- Researching and providing input to product documentation strategies, ensuring the documentation keeps up to date with developments within the industry and adapting documentation to any relevant changes or advances in technology or method of delivery.
- Providing input and feedback on interface design when required, to improve software consistency and quality.
- Producing estimates and documentation plans for future projects.
- Representing the documentation team in all phases of larger and more complex cross functional development projects.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of Engineering processes, especially those associated with documentation and other technical communications.
- Developing key relationships and working closely with the Engineering delivery teams, Product Management, Customer Support, Learning & Development, Implementation Managers and Marketing.
- Providing guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members.
- Communicating Agile KPIs to key stakeholders to monitor project health and process compliance.
- Serving and supporting Delivery Teams as a Scrum Master to aid project success through Agile and Lean methodologies.
- Coaching Delivery Teams to facilitate a culture of proactive ownership at the individual and team level.

**You Will Bring**
- 3-5 years’ experience as a Technical Author, ideally for a software company.
- 2 years’ experience of developing single-sourced documentation.
- 1 years’ experience working with HTML and CSS.
- 2 years’ experience with MadCap Flare, Analyzer and Capture.
- 1 years’ experience with Adobe products.
- 1 years’ experience writing for a North American audience.
- 1 years’ experience as a Scrum Master or holds a recognised Scrum Master certification. Scrum Master experience should include proven knowledge in Agile practices and effective facilitation of full sprint cycle.
