**Job summary**:
We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced phlebotomist to join our UHB/HGS Phlebotomy team for Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull Hospital Sites.
**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
The role requires a flexible approach to duties and the ability to remain calm in a busy environment. The role involves obtaining blood samples from Inpatients (Wards), Outpatients, Various clinics include Paediatric clinic and Community Diagnostic Centre. An essential requirement of the post is an ability to work as part of a team without direct supervision and to deal with patients in a confidential, professional, and sensitive manner.
Suitable applicants will also need to have a desire to learn and contribute effectively to patient care and be capable of working as part of a team, but also to take responsibility for their own work.
The post holder will be based at one of the three sites, though some cross site cover will be required as part of both training and service delivery needs and some work at external sites such as Primary care (CDC) or domiciliary visits may be required.
The Phlebotomy role requires working morning and afternoon shifts to deliver the patient services. The core hours are between 07:00 and 17:00 Monday-Friday, and weekends and bank holidays by rotation.
