Senior Creative Designer

We have an exciting opportunity to work with an Award-winning communications team at Companies House. The Senior Creative Designer will help lead projects and manage the creative team alongside the Head of Creative.

The Senior Creative will be responsible for planning and managing the delivery of one or more of their projects while collaborating on external project objectives regarding quality and time.

The creative team creates brilliantly visually engaging communications across all external business channels and campaigns with graphics, digital, film, animation, and illustrations, including designing business forms and letters.

You’ll work closely with the more expansive comms team to help manage and create impactful designs, bringing communication campaigns and messages to life. You will also work with the broader business areas on specific projects as and when required.

This role is based at our main Cardiff office, you will be expected to attend the Cardiff site at least once a week and as and when required to allow ongoing support and development and to allow you to collaborate with your colleague.

We currently have 2 roles available, 1 x part-time over 3.5 days a week & 1 x FTA for 3 years.

Senior Creative Designer will lead and influence across **more than one project at a time**-delivering projects on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. In addition, they will have **vast design experience covering digital, animation and video techniques in storytelling.**

**Typical activities**

**Line managing creative design team**
- You’ll develop and nurture talent through effective and transparent leadership and will be a senior member of the team.
- You’ll oversee the work of others when acting as senior designer, proactively engaging with team members and making informed, constructive design suggestions.
- You’ll ensure appropriate integration with other communications functions to deliver projects seamlessly.

**Manage design projects from conception to delivery**
- You’ll advise all communication colleagues on best design practices and ensure it always promotes the department's reputation and Companies House.
- You’ll be confident presenting your concepts to others, working collaboratively to deliver identified outcomes.
- You’ll design original concepts on your own and with others, including photography, videography, animation, illustrations, and infographics, with brilliant creative ideas.
- You’ll ensure all deadlines are met when working on several simultaneous design projects.
- You’ll stay up to date with industry trends and best design practices.
- Use organisational brand guidelines and templates adhering to GDS/GOV.UK accessibility rules.

**Design creation - leadership skills**
- You’ll help build a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement to ensure designs remain engaging and fresh.
- Based on insight from campaigns and evaluations, you’ll repurpose creative content for different digital channels and audiences to ensure it is as effective as possible.
- You’ll produce innovative and creative design concepts, artwork and motion solutions that reflect the Companies House corporate identity and design guidelines.
- You’ll work in partnership with communications colleagues from all disciplines to ensure consistent, creative, strategic external communications across channels.
- You’ll keeping up to date with emerging design trends, as well as new production techniques and technologies.

We're looking for a Senior Creative Designer who can produce and oversee digital or print creative solutions that satisfy modern communication needs for clients. They should possess **in-depth knowledge of graphic design, video production, styles, layout techniques, and managing people and projects efficiently**, and be proficient user in Adobe creative Suite.
