Community and Participation Manager

A 3 months+ opportunity for a **Community Participation Manager** has arisen with the local authorities in West End, London.
We are seeking is a hybrid of those experiences as well as the skills mentioned in the order. Post holder will need to work at weekends and evening when required and at 50% of the time from Kensington and Chelsea locations.
To manage a team, working at the local level, that develops, delivers and co-ordinates a community participation programme for and with local communities across the borough and develops and/or supports and sustains spaces and activities that encourage civicdialogue about public issues in Kensington and Chelsea.
To provide specialist advice and support on community participation, community development and community engagement mechanisms to Council departments.
To lead and develop the Council's work in youth participation and ensure integration with the wider Communities department work.
**Skills and Experience**:
- Qualification in community development or related field.
- Proven track record of delivering and managing successful community engagement / participation activities and projects, including building consensus and managing conflict.
- Track record of managing, motivating and supporting teams, particularly those working in and with communities.
- Understanding of local government, the communities it serves and the services it provides.
Hours of work are 9am till 5pm, 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
