Are you a passionate and skilled care professional with a Level 3 qualification OR are you currently studying towards a level 3 social care qualification? Do you have experience of working with children and young people with complex needs? Do you want to be part of something special from the very beginning?
We are excited to announce the opening of a new children’s home in Bury St Edmunds and are looking for dedicated Carers to join our founding team.
**About Us**:
Abbotsbury House is a small, upcoming children's home dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for vulnerable young people within a home from home environment. Our mission is to provide individualised care that fosters growth, resilience, and independence for vulnerable children.
**Role Description**:
As a Carer, you will play an integral role in shaping the lives of the children and young people in our care who sometimes have complex emotional difficulties. You will have the unique opportunity to help establish our home’s culture and practices from the ground up. Your responsibilities will include:
- High-Quality Care Delivery: Providing compassionate and person centered care tailored to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of each child or young person.
- Support and Development: Encouraging personal development through educational activities, life skills training, and positive behavioral support.
- Safeguarding: Ensuring the safety and well-being of the children, adhering to safeguarding policies and best practices.
- Relationship Building: Developing strong, trusting relationships with the children, acting as a mentor and positive role model.
- Care Planning: Assisting in the creation and ongoing review of care plans to ensure they meet each child’s unique needs.
- Hours: We offer 24/7 care so there will be a variety of shifts available

**Who We’re Looking For**:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or social care (or equivalent) or working towards a similar qualification.
- Experience working in a children’s residential setting is preferred, but we value enthusiasm and a commitment to learning.
- Strong communication, empathy, and the ability to support children with complex needs.
- A genuine passion for improving the lives of young people.
- Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Pay: £12.50-£15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 - 40 per week

- Care: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (preferred)
