**Position: SEND School Support Staff (Secondary-Aged Students with Autism)**
**Location: Just Outside Burgess Hill**
**Salary: £97 per day**
**Job Type: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, Term Time Only (8:30 AM - 4:30 PM)**
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to secondary-aged students with autism and related SEND needs.
- Assist in managing challenging behavior in accordance with school policies and behavior management strategies.
- Build trusting relationships with students to help them engage in learning and reach their full potential.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to create tailored learning and support plans.
- Promote students' social and emotional development, encouraging positive behavior and emotional well-being.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, addressing any safeguarding concerns in line with school policies.
**What We Are Looking For**:
- Experience working with children who have SEND, particularly those with autism or similar needs.
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach to working with young people who may display challenging behaviors.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and external partners.
- A proactive and flexible attitude, with the ability to adapt to the diverse and changing needs of students.
- A passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning and succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
