Transformation PMO Manager
Interim - £350 per day
I’m currently recruiting on behalf of a local council, they require an interim to highlight reporting for all key projects and programmes across the transformation programme. You’ll ensure that agreed project and programme standards are maintained across allprojects and programme in the transformation portfolio, and ensure robust risk and issue and dependency management across the transformation programme.

Other duties will include; setting up programme key milestones/critical path and report on progress to the programme board, support finance processes and budget monitoring related to the transformation programme and lead healthchecks of project/programmedocumentation with project and programme managers.
Key tasks, duties, responsibilities and accountabilities of the post:

- Maintain oversight of all programmes and projects undertaken by the transformation portfolio
- Manage the PMO team to ensure support for the delivery of projects and business engagement across the organisation
- Implement governance standards across the portfolio, including tracking, monitoring and updating the status of programme deliverables
- Manage programme level Lessons Learned repository; attend Post Project Review meetings to identify key areas of improvement to be captured into the Lessons Learnt repository
- Manage the programme level risks and issues register
- Attend Programme Boards to present, advise and update on existing and potential programmes
- Identify areas of improvement for programmes, documenting recommendations and presenting them to senior management
- Build up a repository of programme templates both technical and management to support the Programme and Project Managers and encourage best practice
- Continue to evolve the processes and templates throughout the project lifecycle
- Manage the portfolio-level benefits register, ensuring that all benefits are planned, monitored and benefits realisation is tracked
- Support implementation of the quality strategy, including any processes and templates, across all Programmes
- Assure implementation of the change control process across all programmes
- Manage the team to ensure Pre-Programme support of the definition of programme Business Cases (scope, goals, deliverables, costs, timescales, plans, dependencies, resource requirements and milestones)
- Providing effective management support to programme teams and Programme Managers during the procurement phase of any approved programmes
- Co-ordination of publication, review and sign-off of major Programme Management deliverables ensuring programme and project plans are created and maintained, deliverables tracked against time and cost, and resource utilisation is monitored
- Managing the formal closure procedure on all programmes, identifying lessons learned and feeding carry-forward items back into the programme plan
- Work with different service areas to implement change and business improvement
- Deliver or manage the on-the-job training to other members of the PMO team, and other colleagues in relation on programme management processes and governance
