Interim Category Manager

Public sector organisation

Remote/ Hybrid (circa 2 days per month in Wiltshire)

Up to £500pd (1 year approximately)

I am working with a well-known public sector organisation who are looking for a passionate and talented interim category manager to join their team. The organisation would require the person to be in the office in Wiltshire around 2 days per month for importantbusiness meetings.

The interim Category Manager will deliver category strategies for products and services and will fully analyse the expenditure within their area of responsibility. It is important that they are able to identify opportunities for improvement with suppliersand deliver cost savings and improvements along with market analysis.

Key responsibilities
- Provide support in the development and management of end to end OJEU tendering process
- Ensure successful delivery of contracts adhere to relevant EU legislation, value for money principles and commercial awareness
- Ensure that audit trails are created, and that value for money analysis is undertaken
- Ensure that the defined best practice procurement processes and policies are followed to deliver maximum use of e-procurement systems and processes
- Optimise savings opportunities through key stakeholder and supplier engagement
- Conduct competitive tendering and contract practices
- Manage contract negotiations/ management
- Deliver category strategy and plans

Key skills
- CIPS qualified
- Must have experience with OJEU
- Must have experience of managing and running high value (above 500K) complex procurement projects from initial customer engagement through to selection and award of contract
- Proven experience in building and maintaining strong stakeholder engagement/ relationships
- Experience of e-sourcing
- Previous line management experience
