Job Description**
ROLE SUMMARY**

The Indirect Tax Specialist will have responsibility for VAT advisory and compliance related matters for Visa Europe. The role will report to the Indirect Tax Manager.
**KEY** **WORK OUTPUTS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES**

Day to day, the Indirect Tax Specialist will support to the Indirect Head of Tax, Visa Europe, in the delivery of the group’s indirect tax/ VAT responsibilities, including:

- Providing indirect tax advice to the business on a daily basis as required, e.g., relating to Finance, Legal and Business matters
- Dealing with incentive arrangements within the business, including contract review, business liaison and providing indirect tax advice
- Consider and provide advice on indirect tax considerations in respect of new business arrangements, products, pricing and other matters
- Improve and/ or introduce appropriate indirect tax processes relating to business activities working with the wider business as necessary
- Actively engage with wider business teams as relevant to seek to resolve VAT and other issues as they arise
- Work closely and collaboratively with all members of the Tax team in Visa Europe
- Engage with indirect tax compliance and associated matters if needed to support compliance and reporting related obligations in the Visa Europe region
Support in relation to submissions made to, or matters discussed with, HMRC
- Engage in indirect tax advisory related activity outside the Visa Europe region if required
- Seek to develop technical knowledge by working on indirect tax technical matters
- Support in administrative or other team related matters pertinent to the Indirect Tax, or wider Visa Europe Tax, team

**Qualifications**:

- Higher education qualification (A levels/IB equivalent)
- Indirect Tax experience in an accounting firm or in-house tax team essential
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
