Search Recruitment Group are delighted to be working exclusively with a thriving professional services business based in Edinburgh to recruit a Management Accountant role on an 18 month contract. This an exceptional opportunity for a qualified or QBE accountantto join an established finance team.

The Management Accountant will be responsible for a wide variety of month end tasks whilst working closely with the wider finance team and SMT. This company has a transparent mission statement and a clear set of values, which underpins a fantastic workingenvironment.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Production of accurate and timely monthly management accounts
- Assist with profit and loss analysis and other month-end reporting tasks.
- Ownership of payroll, pensions and other salary related journals and reconcile all salary related control accounts on a monthly basis.
- Take responsibility of HMRC related tasks including monthly PAYE, quarterly VAT, annual P11D/PSA and ad-hoc ONS reporting and ensure reporting requirements are completed accurately and by set deadlines
- Post month-end journals and ensure balance sheet reconciliations are carried out every month
- Review internal processes and help to align system functionality to compliment these
- Create, revise and update internal process documents for system tasks as required
- Train revisions to system processes to ensure continuity of approach across the wider finance team
- Assist with ad hoc projects and any other tasks as required by the Head of Finance

Required experience:

- Qualified accountant or qualified by experience
- A solid understanding of financial reporting and month end processes
- Hands on practical experience of different financial systems
- The ability to work within a small finance team whilst forming part of a wider finance function
- The know-how to work with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Strong experience of Microsoft Excel

Salary for this role will be between £35-40k plus an excellent benefits package
