Working for APEM Ireland will involve you in a variety of projects within terrestrial ecology. As a Senior Consultant you will work with a growing number of clients. Project work will include Appropriate Assessment and Natura Impact Statements for infrastructure development, such as flood risk schemes, greenways, housing and on and offshore (landfall aspects of the latter) wind farms, as well as more specific work on terrestrial species such as otter, bats, badgers, overwintering, breeding and nesting birds and other protected species.

In return we offer the opportunity for a Scientist to take on more responsibility and help to lead smaller projects, with some team member supervision/management. **About the role**

You will provide terrestrial ecological consultancy services to clients, dealing with all aspects of the consultancy process, developing and maintaining good client relationships, and the production of high-quality scientific reports. You will work within the existing ecology team assisting with projects at all stages from tender production through to project management. You will spend some of your time in the field, the office and working from home to allow a good work life balance.

**About you**

You will have gained some good experience within the field of terrestrial ecology and ideally already have experience in leading on small projects. You will already be skilled in scoping, designing and carrying out ecological surveys. You will enjoy being out in the field and have a methodical and accurate approach to data collection, analysis and be skilled in interpretation and presentation of this data.

Some supervision or mentoring of junior staff would be advantageous, however most importantly is a positive and engaging manner with clients, colleagues and public/land owners you will interact with.
