**Salary**:£9.52 per hour, plus £45 per sleep in**

The Annex consists of one unit with 3 bedrooms and communal areas supporting young adults who have been diagnosed with Autism and have accompanying learning disabilities and have complex health needs. The ethos of The Annex is very much characterised by a ‘can do’ attitude. We want people who focus on the positive outcome of our adults and take responsibility for helping improve the lives of our service users. We share the value of creating a safe and nurturing home and we want people who can be fair and respectful, in order to do the right thing to support everyone in our care.

Our residents are classed as High-Needs, the role will involve you assisting them with their health and personal care needs. Your duties will range from preparing meals and drinks, to personal care tasks such as feeding (PEG feeds), bathing, and dressing, as well as medication:
This home is based Melton Mowbray, and is within commuting distance from Nottingham, Leicester, Stamford, Loughborough and surrounds.

**The Role**

Options Autism Work directly with autistic Adults who exhibit a wide range of abilities, from non-verbal to high-functioning and you will be patient and compassionate and, most of all, dependable - working hard to forge a much-needed relationship of trust with those in your care.

This will involve creatively learning about the adults interests as well as their dislikes and their triggers, using that connection as a launchpad for a rewarding relationship. A passion for this kind of relationship-building is essential.

You will be responsible for the wellbeing of the adults in your care. This will include chaperoning the adults to appointments and activities, completing relevant paperwork, undertaking household tasks, and where appropriate administering medication.

Working as part of an incredible team of committed care workers, you will co-operate and share knowledge and learning to the benefit of great care. Excellent communication skills are essential, both in terms of teamwork and - most importantly - as you will be in close contact with the adults you care for.
