Ambulance Care Assistant Volunteer

Why we want you: We need volunteers to safely drive people to and from locations such as their home, medical centres, hospitals and care/nursing facilities. This helps people who may not be able to transport themselves. You will be warm and friendly and make it easy for them to get to where they need to be.- Tasks: Drive people to and from hospitals and other medical centres.
- Help people to use equipment to move around.
- Give basic first aid if needed
- Identify issues and get help and guidance when needed.
- Drive and park vehicles safely
- Keep vehicles clean and tidy.
- Keep accurate daily records.- Skills: Warm and friendly.
- Sensitive when supporting patients.
- Shows an interest in people’s well-being.
- Good communication skills.
- Can work as part of a team.
- Able to operate independently.
- Use initiative to solve problems.
- Able to cope with the physical parts of the role.
- Ideally able to be on shifts for 50 hours each year.
- Have a driving licence which allows you to drive in the UK.
- Willing to do the British Red Cross Patient Transport Service Qualification.
