My manufacturing client based near Northwich requires an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team of 8. This is a key appointment, reporting to a newly promoted Management Accountant to assist him in producing monthly management accounts, stockand labour reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analytical work.
You will be an Accountant who is inquisitive, driven and able to partner the operations team whilst challenging the status quo to ensure the company enhance its profitability and reduce cost where possible.
Duties include:

- Accurate management of operational accounting and the reporting of operational costs having an overview of stock & labour costs. Developing Manufacturing KPI's
- Assist with preparation of the monthly, quarterly and Year end process
- Will also assist in the preparation of the annual business plan and strategic plans to safeguard the profitability of the company moving forward
- Work closely with operational teams and challenge current processes and look for process improvements to increase speed and accuracy
- Reporting on Production Labour Cost & Line Efficiency
- Investigating Production Variance
- Analysing Material Usage and Price Variance
- Analysing Labour & Overhead Expenditure
- Conducting Capital Investment Appraisals
- Support product costing and quotations
- Maximise profit margins of customer contracts
- Perform client profitability reviews identifying any under
- performing contracts, ensuring issues are fed back to commercial team for re-negotiation
- Budget preparation, reforecasting and analysis for full P&L
