**Job Purpose**:
The Fleet and Compliance Operative will support the efficient and compliant operation of a mixed fleet, ranging from cars to HGVs. This role ensures that all vehicles and drivers remain compliant with DVSA and FORS standards while promoting safe and cost-effective fleet management. The role involves oversight of both car and HGV drivers, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Fleet Compliance & Regulatory Oversight**:

- Ensure full compliance with DVSA regulations and FORS accreditation requirements.
- Monitor driver hours, working time directive compliance, and tachograph analysis.
- Oversee vehicle inspections, maintenance schedules, MOTs, and servicing.
- Manage vehicle taxation, insurance, and defect reporting processes.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and audit readiness for compliance checks.

**Driver Oversight & Support**:

- Conduct driver license checks, CPC monitoring, and right-to-work validations.
- Support accident investigations, including reviewing telematics and camera footage.
- Monitor and improve driver behavior using telematics and tachograph data.
- Provide guidance on fuel-efficient driving, safe driving practices, and compliance.

**Operational Support**:

- Manage vehicle allocations, ensuring the right vehicles are available for operational needs.
- Support daily driver scheduling and oversee vehicle defect reporting.
- Liaise with external repairers, insurers, and service providers.
- Assist in implementing improvements to fleet damage reporting and cost tracking.

**Reporting & Communication**:

- Provide compliance and fleet performance reports to senior management.
- Work closely with drivers, managers, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate policy changes and best practices to drivers and operational teams.

**Key Requirements**:
**Experience & Qualifications**:

- Proven experience in fleet operations and compliance within a mixed vehicle environment.
- Strong understanding of DVSA regulations, FORS standards, and tachograph compliance.
- Experience with fleet management systems, telematics, and tachograph analysis software.
- Previous experience managing both car and HGV drivers is highly desirable.
- Transport Manager CPC qualification (advantageous but not essential).
- HGV license (advantageous but not essential).

**Skills & Competencies**:

- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage compliance documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills to engage with drivers, managers, and external providers.
- Ability to analyse data and identify trends in fleet performance and driver behaviour.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, fleet management systems, and compliance software.

**Working Conditions**:

- Site-based role with potential travel to other locations as required.
- Standard working hours with occasional flexibility needed for operational requirements.
- Fast-paced environment requiring adaptability and a proactive approach.
