Russell Hall Hospital are currently searching for a qualified and reliable Head of Maintenance to lead our hard services department. The role will be part of the Russell Hall Leadership Team and report directly to the Partnership Director, with up to five direct reports (Manager Level) and overall responsibility for circa fifty maintenance staff. As the Head of Maintenance, you will be responsible for managing all installations; long term maintenance; planned and reactive maintenance and developing a proactive approach to the upkeep of operations within the facilities on the contract. Your duties will also include maintaining machinery, planning repair activities and developing the maintenance procedures.

Proven experience in a maintenance and management role is key alongside excellent organizational and leadership abilities. Good understanding of maintenance machinery and equipment is ideal, as well as outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

**Responsibilities**:
The main day-to-day job duties include, but are not limited to the following:

- Lead the delivery of Hard Services across the Russell Hall contract,
- Ensure that Concept “CAFM” System is utilised by the hard services team to provide effective and efficient maintenance programmes, repairs, asset management and compliance services,
- To assist in the development of the mobile technology solution ensuring that all maintenance staff are using handhelds,
- Explore the use of subcontractors using ‘e-reporting' to cut down on the levels of paper being used on the account via the Maintenance mailbox,
- To work closely with the QSH and Compliance Manager to ensure that the Account has excellent levels of productivity and that Compliance is delivered to the highest level governed by statutory requirements,
- To be commercially astute and ensure SLAs are consistently delivered against,
- To develop a constructive relationship with the Building and Facility Managers, which enables the most effective use of the maintenance resources and customer engagement,
- Recruit and retain talent for the present delivery and future growth of Hard Services,
- Carry out monthly review meetings covering all aspects of and Health & Safety,
- Undertake Audits on direct staff to make sure compliance is continually adhered to.

What we are looking for

To be suitably qualified with a recognised technical qualification in construction, mechanical or electrical discipline. Ideally to be Chartered Engineer.

Experience: - Experience of leading Estates teams within the FM Sector, - Broad understanding of maintenance and construction in Health and Safety law and legislation alongside British standards, - Proven ability to work as part of a team and under their own steam.

Skills and Personal Qualities: - High levels of enthusiasm and willingness to learn, - Professional acumen, with excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills, - Strong commercial acumen, - Excellent interpersonal, communications and presentation skills, - Task focussed as well as people centred.
