**We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to take the next step in their career, in the role of a Controller based from our Somerset (Wellington) location.**
**This role is Monday - Friday, working shifts between the hours of 07:00 - 21:00 on a rolling rota basis -** (0700-1500, 0900-1700 & 1300-2100)
As a Planner/Dispatcher you will be responsible for planning and controlling the daily movement of the medically eligible patients to and from NHS Healthcare facilities.
You are responsible for efficiently and effectively planning Patient Transport Service resources in order to ensure that the requirements of the booked patient journey are met. You will liaise with hospital staff and departments to ensure that E-zec Medical are able to maximise the utilisation of the available vehicles and staff and build effective relationships with crews in order to ensure the best possible patient experience.
Your duties will include:
- Dealing with requests for transport from patients, relatives and healthcare professionals
- Taking patients details and making sure they’re recorded accurately
- Making decisions on the best use of vehicles and drivers
- Booking transport slots
- Maintain confidentiality in relation to personal data held on patients or colleagues.
- Responsible for the day-to-day organisation of ambulance resources to provide a cost effective and efficient Patient Transport Service by use of Cleric to meet all contractual KPIs
- To liaise with the operations team if the service is to be compromised through lack of resources or sickness.
- To work effectively and co-operatively within a team environment and assist the dispatchers where necessary.
- Liaise with Road Crews regarding patient journeys and any required updates and input all data into Cleric.
- Liaise with the Call Handlers with regard to patients’ conditions, mobility, appointments, collection / destination addresses.
**Person Specification**
- Experience of working in a highly regulated, complex business, with an understanding of healthcare logistics (patient transport service experience preferred). _This is desirable not essential._
- Passion for patient care and delivering a highly effective service
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with proven ability to engage at all levels within an organisation
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills with proven ability to multi-task and prioritise as required
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and use initiative
