**JOB TITLE**: Kitchen Assistant

**LOCATION**:1 Paddington Close, Salford, M6 5PL

**HOURS**: 25 hours per week over 5 days (Monday to Friday)

**SALARY**: £12 per hour

**HOLIDAYS**:4 weeks pro rata per annum, with annual increases to 5 weeks

**RESPONSIBLE TO**: Head Cook

**AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE POST**:
To assist the Head Cook in all aspects of kitchen activity in a drop in centre for homeless, isolated and vulnerable adults providing, on average, 80 hot 3 course lunches per day. Assisting with the correct procedures opening and closing the kitchen, food storage, preparation, delivery and stock rotation to ensure compliance with current food safety guidelines. Current Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate required.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assisting the Head Cook in the preparation and service of donated food to provide healthy, varied and nutritious meals for clients, staff, volunteers and visitors to the centre;
- Attend staff meetings and training as required;
- Support the Head Cook with the daily and weekly cleaning of all kitchen equipment, utensils and crockery;
- Work alongside volunteers;
- To take charge of the kitchen when the Head Cook is not on site;
To attend staff meetings and supervision and undertake any training as requested;
- Any other activities as guided by the Head Cook.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: From £12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week
