Yard Assistant

We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic **Yard Assistant **to join our team at **Jewson Wokingham (RG41 2XS)**

As a **Yard Assistant**, your role will be essential to keeping our branch and yard running smoothly. From serving our customers in the yard to loading vehicles ready for delivery, and from monitoring stock to growing our sales on the trade counter, you’ll be at the heart of our operations.

We’re a busy and well established branch with a friendly team who pride ourselves on offering a great service and excellent product knowledge. We have a sales office, warehouse, yard stores, shop & counter, timber supply and customer delivery vehicles

If you love working with people, you’re a good listener and you enjoy working in a varied role, then this could be a great opportunity for you to join our team as a **Yard Assistant** It would be preferable for you to have
- Previous experience working in an outdoor role with manual handling (full work-wear and PPE is provided)
- Previous experience using a forklift truck would be beneficial but full training will be provided
- **So, what will you be doing?**_

Our **Yard Assistants **have a strong focus on customer service as well as working outside in the yard, so this role is great for someone who loves to build relationships with customers and enjoys working outdoors. We will provide you with full work-wear and PPE.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

- Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects
- Get to know our product lines so you can offer help and advice
- Help to process and prepare customer orders
- Load/unload customer and supplier vehicles using a Fork Lift to minimise manual handling
- Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products
- Maintain stock levels in both the shop and yard areas, carrying out regular stock counts
- Keep the branch looking clean and tidy and make Health & Safety a priority

**Hours of Work**:Full time - Monday-Friday 7am-5pm and every 2ndSaturday 8am-12pm.
