We are looking for a caring and passionate Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to work as part of our Criminal Justice & Secure Care Team.

Rethink Mental Illness are delighted to work alongside Tees, Esk and Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust to deliver a stepped care mental health model within HMP Northumberland
Our trainee PWP’s complete the PWP training course at Newcastle university and spend the remainder of their week in base, carrying out clinical duties and working towards competence in the PWP role. Upon completion of the training course, trainee PWP’s automatically progress to a substantive PWP job within the North East prisons.
**How you will make a difference**:
I work as part of an integrated primary care mental health team within the Prison to train in, and provide high volume, low intensity interventions which will be a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions, for clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression. This includes providing guided self-help in both 1:1 and group formats, in line with the current Step 2 IAPT guidelines.
