Product Owner

We're recruiting a Product Owner for our Workday platform, to be the central point of contact for the product, working across stakeholders, analysts and technical leads ensuring business change objectives are understood, influenced, and informed.

Salary from: £77,500 per annum

Reporting to: Head of Business Relationship Management

Working hours: Full time, 35 hours a week. You’ll agree your working pattern with your manager.

Location: London, Docklands. Our permanent hybrid policy sees us all working four days across a fortnight in the office.

The purpose of your role- To champion Workday and be responsible for creating the vision for the future and defining the roadmap for getting there, creating enthusiasm and momentum for change. Partnering with Stakeholders from across the Service and external suppliers, to ensure that your product is developed to meet business needs and that the value achieved through investment is maximised.- To ensure development strikes the right balance between ongoing feature improvement and strategic development, you’ll be the central point of contact for your product, working across stakeholders, analysts and technical leads to ensure that business change objectives are understood, influenced and informed.-
- Partnering both business and technology to align the strategic aims of the Service and product capability building and maintaining relationships at senior levels are critical to the credibility and success of the role.

You’re accountable for:
- Defining the vision for your product and engaging with stakeholders, obtaining buy-in and providing confidence that the roadmap to change will deliver what we need- Working with stakeholders to understand business objectives to ensure the product aligns with strategic goals- Gaining support for the architectural vision and influencing the underlying development roadmap- Understanding stakeholders needs of the product and juggling scope, budget and time to prioritise changes/projects which maximise business value- Taking ultimate accountability for the product development and release, by managing a clearly prioritised and informed product backlog- Managing change control and governance process to ensure feature / product development follows design best practices, feeding back and taking a hard stance (where appropriate)- Scoping larger scale, significant changes, identifying the resources needed and pro-actively engaging in the removal of barriers to the change- Pro-actively engaging with users ensuring that feedback is incorporated into feature / product development at the earliest possible stage- Making informed data driven decisions to support and enhance the product, balancing need vs issue to ensure that it remains customer driven and responsive.- Supporting the planning and execution of each release cycle, by coordination and management of interdependencies across project, product improvement and vendor update channels- Acting as the primary liaison between internal IT teams, external suppliers, ensuring that development activity is consistent and aligned with architectural designs- Networking with professional communities and other product customers to ensure that you understand how to maximise the value of the product- Provide timely and accurate reporting on design quality and performance, including proportion of design defects in delivery phase, to assess design quality and remediate under-performance
