Join WIG as our Dynamic Alumni Lead Are you a creative, strategic thinker with a passion for building and nurturing relationships? WIG is on the lookout for a dynamic and visionary Alumni Lead to craft and implement a cutting-edge alumni strategy. We are looking to hire our first alumni lead, a role which is essential to the achievement of our mission: Innovate and Lead: Design, deliver, and evaluate a brand-new alumni strategy from the ground up. Engage Across Sectors: Foster relationships and celebrate our outstanding alumni spanning government, industry, and the non-profit sectors. If you’re ready to make a significant impact and lead our alumni network to new heights, we want to hear from you
- Research, create and deliver an ongoing alumni strategy that encourages the sharing of best practice in cross-sector collaborative leadership, and champions WIG’s purpose and brand with clear objectives and mechanisms for evaluation
- Create compelling content around WIG’s purpose, brand and impact that contributes to evidence of ‘what works’ when it comes to cross-sector collaborative and leadership
- Create clear customer journey for alumni to maximise use of the WIG offer by both themselves and their colleagues, with clearly defined ROI
- Be the main point of contact for alumni, fostering high quality relationships between alumni (at all levels of seniority), and between alumni and WIG
- To identify, negotiate and manage alumni affinity marketing schemes and other alumni benefits, overseeing the delivery of a systematic programme of alumni communications
- To help evolve the way the WIG uses social media such as LinkedIn and our website to engage with alumni and develop associated strategies for delivery, working closely with colleagues from Marketing.
- To identify notable alumni and develop profiles to showcase outstanding alumni, also considering potential alumni awards.
- Developing strategies for on-going engagement with notable alumni as ambassadors for cross sector collaboration and the WIG mission, including events.
- Based on alumni feedback and wider marketplace developments, introduce new ways to engage our alumni so they are able to network and collaborate with each other and WIG.
- To develop a pool of engaged alumni who can support the development of WIG content and programmes, ensuring we remain relevant in a fast paced operating environment.
- Impact assessment of our programmes: undertake +6 month interviews of WIG alumni to generate evidence of our impact
- Working with data team, maintain an up-to-date record of relevant alumni and code individuals accordingly to ensure easy filtering and targeting when reengaging cold, but relevant contacts; data maintenance and tracking.
- Working closely with other WIG delivery teams and with crosscutting areas such as Events, Leadership & Talent and Operations;
- Experience of dealing with senior internal and external stakeholders and managing relationships within a similar organisation.
- Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills with evidenced success in content creation
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to managing a large portfolio of relationships.
- Strategic thinker who is passionate about cross-sector collaboration as a conduit for prosperity and growth.
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Skilled communicator with a collaborative and customer-centric approach.
- Previous experience developing a strategic approach to alumni engagement and associated tactical plans.
- Demonstrable experience in alumni programme design and delivery, ideally within a membership-based or nonprofit organisation.
- Strong understanding of the UK’s public, private, and non-profit sectors, with experience engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Either a background in government and industry relations, public policy or a strong personal interest in current affairs and policy issues, allowing for informed conversations with WIG’s diverse senior membership base.
- Proven experience in one of the following: Fundraising, Alumni Relations, affinity marketing, corporate communications, membership communications or related disciplines.
- Knowledgeable in social media with direct professional experience of engaging an audience in this medium.
- Analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret data to inform strategy and identify trends.
