**Job description**:
This position sits within DfT Human Resources Operations part of the wider Corporate Delivery Group. As the Workplace Adjustments Lead you will play a crucial role ensuring the Department meets its objectives in improving the provision of workplace adjustments to enable our staff with disabilities and health conditions to thrive at work and achieve their potential by removing workplace barriers.
The role provides a varied workload and exposure to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders - including Staff Networks Groups, Trade Unions, Well-being Champions, Mental Health Partners, Health & Safety representatives, other government departments, the Business Disability Forum and external suppliers. You will therefore need to be confidant and comfortable in forging positive working relationships. It offers a fantastic opportunity to make a difference to peoples’ lives in a significant way.
**Responsibilities**
**_Include, but not limited to:_**
- Lead a small WPA team in handling complex WPA cases for the central Department (DfTc) and continually assess and improve ways of working and processes with regard to the DfTc Workplace Adjustments service offer.
- Lead and contribute to the review, development and implementation of policies with relevance to workplace adjustments.
- Manage relationships with a wide range of stakeholders with differing agendas and priorities, showing strong leadership skills by demonstrating emotional intelligence and understanding for their different perspectives.
- Lead, monitor, manage and procure Workplace Adjustment’s contracts and budgets ensuring that expenditure is managed effectively by making evidence-based forecasts, adhering to financial protocols and through avoiding large over or underspends.
- Ensure a data driven approach is taken to work progressed on the team, working closely with the wider HR function to interpret a variety of data, create dashboards and reports, and use it to create compelling narratives which stimulate action.

**About You**
To be successful in this role, you will require excellent collaboration, partnering and stakeholder management skills. You will be working with a wide range of stakeholders with differing agendas and priorities, and you will need strong leadership skills to be able to manage the relationships effectively by demonstrating emotional intelligence and understanding for their different perspectives. You will need a high level of personal resilience, so that you are able to juggle competing priorities to support the team and get the best out of people under pressure.
As well as being able to see the bigger picture, you’ll be able to drive a data driven approach to all our work. You’ll be IT proficient, and confident to work closely with analysts, and the wider HR function to interpret a variety of data, create dashboards and reports, and use it to create compelling narratives which stimulate action.
You will have experience, or a working knowledge of Workplace Adjustments and will have the passion to make a difference and add value.
You must be CIPD qualified or be willing to work towards a CIPD or equivalent relevant professional qualification.
You will be required to complete the Contract Management Capability Programme (CMCP) and achieve the accreditation at Foundation level, once in the role.
**Additional Information**
You will have the option to be based in either Birmingham, Hastings, Leeds, or Swansea office attracting the National salary.
A minimum **60%** of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace, although requirements to attend other locations for official business, or carry out detached duty in another DfT workplace, will also count towards this level of attendance.
Occasional travel to other DfT offices will be required.
