**Job overview**:
Salford Care Organisation (Part of the NCA) is a Sector Base Teaching Hospital for the University of Manchester Medical School (MMS). The Clinical Skills Tutor role will involve programme planning and direct tuition of students studying on the MMS MBChB programme, within the clinical skills labs and in the clinical environment throughout Salford Royal foundation trust and the Northern Care Alliance

There are, on average, 400 students per year, which is set to increase. We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, proactive health care practitioner registered on the relevant part of a register with an enthusiasm for teaching and learning to join our Undergraduate Medical Education team, as a Clinical Skills Tutor who will assist with the local arrangements for the organisation of the clinical exams at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and examine medical students as need arises. They will also have responsibility for providing additional skills support and exam tuition for students who have failed previous assessments or who are known to be having difficulties.

**Main duties of the job**:
The purpose of the role is to ensure:
1) That medical students are ‘fit for practice’ and ‘fit for purpose’.

2) That medical education supports the Trust’s core objectives of patient safety and high quality care

3) To deliver clinical skills teaching and assessment to meet the specification and quality standards of the Manchester Medical School MB ChB programme.

4) Participate in simulation Based Education to all year groups.

5)work along side the university of Manchester to provide communication based education to year 1&2 medical students.
