We have a fantastic opportunity to join us on a permanent basis as a Finance Assistant based from our Baildon office

In this role you will process the commission statements received from our insurance providers, investigate and resolve matters arising from these and support the Accounts Team Leader and wider FP&A team in a range of activities.

You’ll maintain records in a timely and accurate manner to enable the business to acquire all relevant and required management information (MI) as the need arises and work within the Company’s established business procedures, taking into account the regulatory environment.

We require you to be able to commute into the office at least 3 days a week.

**Key areas of focus**
You will have accountability for a variety of tasks and as someone with prior experience of working within a Finance team you will use you knowledge and experience to support the following:
**Planning/Reporting**:

- Support key department and business retention targets
- Lead and contribute to key projects
- Provide relevant and insightful MI as required

**Technical**:

- Process commission statements received from insurance providers in a timely and accurate manner
- Investigate and resolve any matters arising from insurance debtors in accordance with our policy
- Accurately process adjustments on agencyPlus/AO systems
- Support of the month end process
- Keep up to date with regulatory and legal changes
- Ensures up to date records are maintained at all times on the Company systems
- Be proactive in responding to matters as they arise
- Respond to clients (both internal and external) requirements as appropriate

**Personal Development**:

- Actively undertake personal development to ensure up to date knowledge and understanding of standard methodology
- Remain aware of external, industry, legal and regulatory developments to ensure practice and outputs are of a consistent high standard
- Keep advised of all legal and regulatory developments relevant to the Operating Entity/Group

**You**:

- Experience of working in a finance team
- Understanding of Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and FCA rules
- Understanding of the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998
- Maintain client and company confidentiality at all times
- Accurate work with attention to detail
- Sense of responsibility and ownership with good organisational skills
- Positive and professional
- Ability to utilise analysis and judgement
- Educated to GCSE standard (or equivalent)
