**Commissioning Officer**- Children and Families (Grade 7)

**Overview**:
We are seeking a Commissioning Officer to support the effective commissioning and contract management of services for children and young people, including placements for Children Looked After and Care Leavers. This role is key to ensuring high-quality, value-for-money services that align with local needs, regulations, and strategic priorities.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Deliver commissioning and procurement activities aligned with the Children’s Placements Sufficiency Strategy and the Council’s commissioning principles.
- Manage tendering, contracting, and performance monitoring processes to ensure services meet required standards and outcomes.
- Conduct contract management functions such as quality assurance visits, provider forums, and service reviews.
- Collaborate with partners and providers across sectors to design, evaluate, and improve services.
- Analyse service performance using data and feedback, and recommend commissioning or decommissioning actions as needed.
- Support the allocation of grants to voluntary organisations in line with agreed strategies.
- Maintain accurate records and management information systems.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including Ofsted and CQC.
- Promote community engagement and help develop flexible, responsive services for children and young people.
- Foster strong internal and external relationships to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.
- Commit to personal development and uphold principles of diversity, inclusion, and equality in all aspects of the role.
