**Job Purpose**

We are seeking a proactive and experienced **Fabrication/Welding Supervisor (Charge Hand)** to oversee day-to-day operations in our busy fabrication workshop. You will be responsible for coordinating staff, ensuring jobs are completed efficiently and to a high standard, maintaining health and safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Supervise and coordinate a team of welders, fabricators, and general workshop staff.
- Allocate work based on production schedules, job priorities, and staff capabilities.
- Monitor progress of jobs in the workshop to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Liaise with the Workshop Manager, engineers, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and accurate job execution.
- Conduct job briefings and toolbox talks; ensure compliance with H&S policies and procedures at all times.
- Interpret and check engineering drawings for accuracy and feasibility prior to work commencement.
- Provide hands-on support when required, including welding and fabrication duties.
- Oversee equipment maintenance checks and ensure tools and machinery are in safe working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of time, materials, and job progress.
- Promote a clean, organised, and efficient working environment.

**Essential Requirements**
- Proven experience in a similar supervisory or charge hand role within a fabrication/welding environment.
- Time-served fabricator with strong technical skills and experience across various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, MMA, etc.).
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good organisational and leadership skills with the ability to manage people and workloads effectively.
- Working knowledge of health and safety legislation within a workshop setting.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
