**The Role**

**Overview**

This role will own the information security, IT, risk and compliance strategies and ongoing execution for the Group’s businesses, championing cyber and information security practices within the business and with customers. Reporting to the CFO, the role will have visibility at Board level via the Audit and Risk Committee.

The various elements of the role are discussed in more detail below.

**_ Information security_**

As an experienced and up-to-date professional in information security and cyber security practices, with the ability to make risk-informed decisions to optimise security posture, the CISO will work collaboratively across our businesses to formulate and implement a cohesive, business enabling and risk-based security strategy that protects the data and assets of our customers, staff and business.

The CISO is the authority on information security and risk within the Group, contributing practically to the development of the Group’s risk management and information practices, educating staff and customers and advising our management teams to support our business strategies. The CISO will chair the Group Security Oversight Committee, a cross-functional forum to collaborate around information security, raising awareness across the Group.

The CISO will work with the Director of Finance and Operations to manage the ongoing confidentiality, integrity and availability of data and security of infrastructure and services across the business within a recognised framework, such as the NIST cybersecurity framework.

The CISO will develop and implement the strategy for cyber threat detection and response and manage the ongoing deployment of technology solutions to support the strategy.

**_ IT_**

The CISO will develop, implement and own the strategy for the Group’s IT infrastructure, including internal networks, endpoints and connectivity that meets the needs of the businesses, is cost effective and complies with the Group’s information security policies.
