The post holder will work as part of a dynamic multi-agency integrated team assessing notifications and referrals regarding children aged 0-19 that are received by the MASH within Children’s Social Care. The MASH process includes searching for and collating health information from health data bases, with due regard to patient confidentiality. The health professional needs to analyse and proportionately share the information that is necessary to safeguard and/or promote the welfare of a child.
1. Providing a single front door for referrals and notifications
2. Co-location of key partners
3. Provides a safe confidential environment
4. Enables analysis of risk or need on a case by case basis
5. Enables wider victim identification within communities
MAIN DUTIES
**The post holder will**:

- Represent Health and work as part of the MASH within Islington.
- Provide a seamless response to all safeguarding concerns to children’s social care as part of the single point of access.
- Be responsible for health input to the assessment, discussions and decisions made by the MASH team.
- Proactively engage with health staff who deliver frontline services and provide specialist children’s safeguarding information, advice, guidance and support to promote the health and welfare of children.
- Work with the Whittington Health Children Safeguarding Team to develop and implement the health systems and processes within the MASH and to ensure that there is an effective audit in place for monitoring the management of referrals requiring health input.
- Collate qualitative and quantative data on the workflow through MASH Health.

Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff. We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief. The Trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.
