Medical Receptionist

Job Overview:
Due to Maternity leave, we are seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our Friendly GP Surgery on a temporary basis from December 2024 to August 2025.

General Reception Duties
- Greet and assist patients that come to the surgery.
- Answering appointment line, general enquiries and triage incoming calls.
- Scanning and filing patient documents on to their records.
- Processing prescription requests
- Entering patient data on medical system (EMIS)
- Monitoring and actioning triage requests which come in electronically
- Filing paper documents and keeping stock up to date.
- Keep updated on Protocol and Policies of the surgery.
- Work as a team to cover holidays, illness, training days

**.** Coordinate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
- Experience within a GP practice
- Confident with IT and quick learner
- Experience in Customer Service or face to face reception work desirable
- Excellent Team Player, good initiative and dedicated to role
- Good attention to detail
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred
- Proficiency in office administrative tasks
- Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

Pay: £11.44 per hour
