As a Barclays Real Estate Credit Risk, you will act as a Credit Sanctioner within the Real Estate Credit Team. This is an opportunity to join a well-established and highly professional team, responsible for all Real Estate UK Corporate and Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) lending within Barclays International. Work will include a mix of sanctioning within individual lending discretion and presenting to sanctioners with a higher discretion.

**What will you be doing?**
- Approving credit proposals within delegated discretion or appropriate recommendation to relevant sanctioning level
- Identifying adverse trends in client/counterparty credit profile and ensuring timely referral to Watchlist/Special Asset Management
- Providing support to Team/Sector in provision of portfolio and management Information
- Liaising and collaborating with support functions including Portfolio; Legal; Compliance; Lending Operations; RSG in support of approval and managing the credit risk
- Attending credit-focused client calls and F2F meetings (where appropriate)
- Continuing the culture of challenge while supporting debt growth in line with business objectives, recognising the uncertainty in the market and the geopolitical considerations
- Maintaining effective relationships to support strategic/systems change, demonstrating guidance on priority deals, structuring and acceleration of viable opportunity
- Managing and / or contributing to projects and initiatives to enhance the efficiency of our processes, controls or delivering regulatory / strategic change

**What we’re looking for**:

- Experience with Corporate and SPV Real Estate lending and credit analysis
- Developed problem solving and decision making, analytical and numerate in support of Corporate Credit Analysis, with ability to challenge and structure proposals
- Ability to build effective working relationships and proactively manage internal clients/stakeholders across all teams and levels
- Advanced communication, negotiation and presentation skills

- Awareness of legislation affecting the banking Industry
