**Summary**:

- This role sits within the Data and Information Governance and Policy function, within the Chief Data Office (CDO) in Digital, Data & Technology (DDaT). The CDO are responsible for managing the NCA corporate record and information holdings, whilst ensuring the NCA can confidently identify, discharge and comply with its legal information management responsibilities.
- We are currently looking to recruit a Archives Senior Officer at our London, Leicester, Bristol, Birmingham, Wakefield or Warrington site.**Job description**:

- This role will manage a dedicated Public Record Act (PRA) compliance team. It will provide guidance and direction on information and records management best practice to ensure the Agency manages its information and data in compliance with legislation so that it can succeed in its mission and operational outcomes.**Responsibilities**:

- Key responsibilities:
- Deliver Information and Records Management services supporting the NCA through their PRA submissions to The National Archives (TNA) and leading the NCA’s compliance with the Act.
- Support Sensitivity reviews, and establish a process and common taxonomy and catalogue.
- Support the NCA’s identification and appraisal of NCA records with a team of dedicated records managers.
- Support the investigation and adoption of digital transfer tools to facilitate the move of records to TNA digitally.
- Seek continuous service improvement for the performance of the information and records management function, conducting evaluations and making recommendations for improving processes and performance.
- Support senior management in the delivery of an effective and efficient departmental service deputising where appropriate.
- Through a continuous process of assessment, to be able to drive activity which will achieve necessary cultural change regarding information and records management within the NCA.
- Draft briefings as necessary, identifying risks and recommending solutions.
- Manage issues relating to the performance and conduct of officers in line with NCA values and manage/coach and develop staff.**Behaviours**:

**Technical skills**:

- Knowledge of industry best practice relating to the appraisal and managing records under the Public Records Act and the requirements for transferring records to The National Archives.
- Knowledge and experience of managing information and records.
- Good understanding of legislation affecting law enforcement and the management of records throughout the information life cycle.
- Ability to communicate complex, technical matters in suitable language to stakeholders who have differing levels of technical understanding.
