**Overview of Responsibilities**:
The salary for this role is **£34,568 (inclusive of a Specialist Allowance)**_. _**Onsite working**is expected for 5** days a week**, however, we actively support requests for flexible working.
This role is based at the following site; **Culham, Oxfordshire**.
This role requires employees to **complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS)**, including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.
The role is part of the IT Support Section within the Service Management Group, under the Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions Unit in the Computing Division. This division is responsible for centrally managed IT services and infrastructure across UKAEA sites, including data networks, desktop computing, filesystems, and UNIX/Linux/Windows server systems, as well as JET data acquisition and storage tools. It also manages service desk operations and the day-to-day running of UKAEA’s computer rooms.
UKAEA has made significant investments in enhancing its meeting room and cloud-based Audio-Visual (AV) capabilities to support both hybrid and onsite work. These facilities include a range of technologies such as cameras, screens, microphones, touch panels, assistive hearing loops, and environmental controls. The AV Support Specialist ensures these systems operate smoothly and effectively, offering hands-on support to users and helping them confidently use the equipment, associated cloud meeting software, and room booking systems.
- Respond to support requests, troubleshoot AV and IT issues in meeting and lecture rooms, and serve as the main point of contact for live AV incidents via a dedicated phone line. Provide in-person support for high-profile meetings as required.
- Conduct regular room and system checks, track recurring issues, and proactively resolve trends. Manage AV-related ITSM requests and generate reports on system usage and problems.
- Support AV-related projects, identify opportunities for improving AV systems and meeting room functionality, and contribute to the implementation of new technologies.
- Ensure AV documentation is current, user-friendly, and accessible. Assist in the design and delivery of training sessions to help users effectively operate AV systems.
- Liaise with third-party suppliers to resolve technical faults within agreed SLAs, coordinate break/fix activities, and oversee scheduled maintenance of AV equipment and systems.

**Qualifications**:
**Essential**:
- Demonstrable experience of Audio-Visual support.
- Good knowledge of IT systems, including software installations, and basic hardware troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting Audio-Visual equipment.
- Experience of working in IT and software related to AV (MS Teams, Zoom etc)
- Excellent oral communication skills and able to communicate well with both technical and non-technical individuals.
- Experience of working with 3rd party suppliers.
**Desirable**:
- Use and management of Audio-Visual Platforms such as QSYS, Crestron, AMX.
- Takes an analytical approach to problem solving.
- ITIL V4 Foundation Certificate.
