Job Description*
Who are we looking for?*
The UKAEA has a vacancy for a Assurance Data Specialist to join us on a permanent basis in the Risk & Assurance Department. The Risk & Assurance Department provides independent advice and assurance across the organisation. This role will support the combined audit programme, corporate governance processes and will assist with the protection of personal data that is held by UKAEA.
To be successful in this role the technical abilities you will be confident with databases and data manipulation that can be processed into reports and dashboards. You will need a working knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulations.
In regards to your working preferences you will be resilient to change and challenges, having the ability to work with a variety of personalities and rapidly changing situations. Displaying confidence in your abilities and interactions with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. You will also require the ability to be self-sufficient and a fast learner, someone who enjoys a level of autonomy but can also follow established processes.

What will you be responsible for?*
- Assisting with the planning and delivery of the UKAEA Combined Audit Programme
- Responsible for the data input of audit and inquiry actions, reporting progress and tracking to closure.
- Facilitating communications between external audit service providers and the internal stakeholders.
- Supporting the the corporate governance and information assurance processes.
- Carrying out low-level investigations of data protection incidents and produce reports for the senior leadership.

Qualifications*
Essential skills experience*
- Educated to degree level or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Experience of managing audits in a research or engineering environment.
- Knowledge of ISO standards and the requirements necessary to maintain certification.
- Excellent IT skills, including good knowledge of Office 365 and the office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Working knowledge of Sharepoint.
- Working knowledge of proprietary or bespoke databases.
- Working knowledge of the GDPR regulations and information assurance processes.
- Experience of producing reports and dashboards for senior management.

**Desirable skills experience**
- Experience of managing audits in a research or engineering environment.
- Experience of supporting a Data Protection Officer or holding that appointment.
- Experience of using QPulse, Sphera or ARM Risk Management Tool.
- Experience of using PowerBI.
- Auditing qualification.
- Microsoft users certification
