Based in Dunfermline, we are Fife’s leading Chartered Tax Advisers, providing quality, tax and business services to local, national and international clients.

This is a unique opportunity for a trainee to join our team and work with both our tax department and accounts department. This professional apprenticeship will give you the chance to learn what it means to be an accountant and a tax adviser and you will gain hands-on experience working in a professional and supportive office environment. It is the perfect way to build a strong foundation and start your professional career.

As you progress you will get the chance to sit your professional exams more quickly than those going to university and importantly, have gained years of relevant work experience.

**Tax and Accounts Trainee - Job Description and Essential Skills**
- The main duties will involve:_
- Playing a key part in preparing accounts and tax returns for our clients from start to finish.
- Corresponding with HMRC and other third-party contacts.
- Working with other team members to ensure the continuation of first-class service to clients.
- To achieve this, you must have the following attributes:_
- A proven track record of exam success with A or B passes in Highers or high grades in relevant HNC or HND courses.
- A ‘team player’ with a resilient and positive attitude, who can show consideration to others.
- Analytical with attention to detail.
- A good listener and communicator.
- Being prepared to take personal responsibility and ownership of tasks.
- Keyboard and IT skills including experience of Office 365, and a willingness to fully embrace, learn and use industry-specific software.
- A commitment to learning.
- Being curious by asking relevant and informed questions.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 6 months

**Salary**: £16,000.00-£18,000.00 per year
