Here within our Initial Accommodation and Support Services Contract, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Catering Assistant to provide and carry out catering services, in accordance with all relevant and current regulations, legislation and guidelines as per Serco catering food safety management system (FSMS).

**What you’ll need to do the role**:

- To assist the Catering Manager and Chef Team Leader(s) in the delivery of catering services to the establishment.
- Help with unloading of all food deliveries and check against orders and delivery notes, reporting problems to the Manager or team leader.
- Assisting with Basic food preparation actives including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables.
- To ensure full stock rotation on delivery of goods.
- To keep the kitchen and servery areas clean to high standard.
- Setting up the servery, and dining areas ready for service.
- To ensure that catering resources comply with all relevant public health and food hygiene Legislation.
- To undertake training to level 2, food safety, Allergens and COSHH.
- To Use safely in line with risk assessments and PPE guidance all catering machinery.
- To record and document all relevant paperwork to comply with food hygiene regulations, H.A.C.C.P and Company Policies.
- To train for and carry out any other work reasonably acceptable within the capabilities of the post holder.
- To provide hospitality requirements when requested and approved by Manager or Team leader.
- To carry out any other duties as directed by the catering manager or Chef team leader.
- To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Manager.

**Working Hours**:
**Day Shifts 7am-7pm - 4 on 4 off shift pattern 12 hour shift**

**Essential Qualifications for the role**:
A minimum: good working knowledge in large catering establishment and the handling of food items and a willingness to learn.

Food safety level 2 is desirable but will be trained on site.

Awareness of Health & Safety at Work Regulations

Awareness of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations

Awareness of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (**HACCP**)
