**Job**: Assistant Shift Team Leader

**Working hours**: Shift rota based on 40 hours per week to provide continuous operational cover of the EfW CHP Facility.

**Salary**: £38,000 PA + Bonus 12.5%

**Reports to**: Shift Team Leader

**Direct reports**: Organised Shift Cover

AD Energy are working with a prestigious client in the Dundee area with an exceptional reputation in the EFW market.

**Purpose of the position**: To assist the Shift Team Leader in the safe, compliant and efficient operation of the EfW (CHP) Facility, carrying out operational duties as directed.

**Tasks**:

- Assist the STL with the operation and monitoring of plant from a Central Control Room, operate plant and equipment as required by the operational demands of the EfW (CHP) Facility, including mobile plant and refuse crane as required.
- Assist in ensuring day to day compliance with all aspects of the Environmental Protection Permit, reporting any non-compliance or incident to the Shift Team Leader.
- Carry out routine plant inspections/maintenance and adjustments/operations as required, collecting and recording plant data, carry out sampling as required.
- Monitor consumables stocks, oversee receipt of consumables/disposal of residues.
- Assist other Company staff and contractors as required.
- Carry out other reasonable tasks and duties as requested by management.
- Identify weak points of the plant and report to shift team leader.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work within all Safety Rules, Health and Safety Policies and Site Procedures.
- Work within the Company Environmental & Quality Systems. Work in accordance with Safe Systems of Work and operation instructions.
- Continue personal development to improve knowledge & skills relevant to the role.

**Knowledge, qualifications and experience**:

- Understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues minimum IOSH 1 day.
- Experience of process operations in a mechanical & electrical plant and relevant engineering.
- IT literate.
- Experience gained through working in a continuous process environment, preferably with experience of working.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and working at height.
- Ability to operate, or train to operate a variety of mobile equipment and fixed plant.
- Prepared to work a continuous rotating shift pattern, including adequate voluntary overtime to cover the workload and maintain operational availability.
- Self-motivated, able to prioritise tasks and work with mínimal supervision.
- An effective team member with good communication skills.
- Flexible, with a creative approach to problem-solving.
