An outstanding opportunity for an experienced rail and civil engineering Sub Agent or Site Agent

to work on the Rolling Programme of Decarbonisation of Scotland's Railway, commencing with Aberdeen to Central Belt, carrying out gauge and route clearance of structure assets.

Business Unit

A busy and fast paced project and maintenance environment involving in a range of multi-disciplinary civil engineering projects, working for a varied range of clients including Local Authorities, Network Rail and Environmental.

Projects can typically include civil engineering works and infrastructure projects such as:
Highways & Roads, underbridges, overbridges and footbridges, tunnels, flood alleviation & repairs, earthworks & embankments and rail platforms and station infrastructure etc.

We currently have a number of live infrastructure projects and long term renewals and maintenance frameworks underway including Civils Asset Management (CAM), Renewals Enhancement Framework (REF), Slabtrack framework as well as a portfolio of gauge and route clearance of structural assets on the rolling programme of decarbonisation on Scotland’s railway..

The Role

As Sub Agent or Site Agent you will be directly responsible for the daily management of rail and structural asset projects within our portfolio of work on the Rolling Programme of Decarbonisation of Scotland's Railway. Day to day responsibilities would include:

- Ensuring that the contract is executed in accordance with the requirements of:

- All applicable legislation
- The Terms and Conditions of the Contract
- The Contract Health and Safety Plan
- The Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets
- The Contract Quality / Environmental Plan
- Delivery of the contract within programme and budget.
- Liaison with site staff and managing surveyor to ensure tender allowances are not exceeded.
- The continuous monitoring of contract progress to ensure contract objectives are being met.
- Ensuring that in conjunction with the site team changes to the contract are identified, agreed and effectively managed.
- The provision of formal reports on contract progress to the Project and Contracts Managers.

**Requirements**:
To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a Senior Engineer, Sub Agent or Site Agent in a rail and civil engineering environment.
- SMSTS
- Degree / HNC or HND in civil engineering (or equivalent compensating experience in a technical engineering role)
- Experience as a Senior Engineer, Sub Agent or Site Agent in a civil engineering contracting environment
- Experience in a similar role working on multi-disciplinary civils infrastructure projects
- Rail experience is beneficial but not essential
