**The Opportunity**
Due to internal progression, Diligenta now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Claims Assessor to take on. In this Senior Claims Assessor role you will be expected to effectively assess claims in areas such as Income Protection, Critical Illness, Permanent Total Disability and Death Claims. You will also be expected to make fair, correct, and efficient decisions whilst hitting company targets.

**You’ll be**:

- Expected to make admittance and medical decisions and make recommendations within admittance authority for declines / terminations / mis-representation
- Proactively managing a nominated portfolio of claims
- Liaising with claimant(s) throughout the claims process and thoroughly investigate all claims, requesting and using appropriate medical and other evidence to assess the claim proactively within the agreed service standards
- Making recommendations to develop innovatively the Company’s claim philosophy and protocols
- Providing authoritative technical support to the Risk Claims administration teams
- Have a minimum of 3 years proven experience in at least one of Income Protection, Waiver of Premium, Total and Permanent Disability, Critical Illness, Death Claims assessment
- Can display an excellent telephone manner with the ability to deal with anxious distressed and sometimes angry customers
- Have strong Microsoft and general PC skills
- Can show a proven ability to make admittance, declinature and medical decisions and make recommendations within admittance authority
- Have a proven ability to coach and mentor less experienced claims assessors to enable them to develop their technical knowledge
