Job Title: Senior Insurance Administrator

Job Purpose:

This role will be responsible for Engineering and D&O insurances for the Fexco Property Services (Management) Ltd - previously Remus division. This role will also be responsible for the management of all insurance claims on behalf of and against clients.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Advisory -

  • Answering clients' queries in relation to insurance cover
  • Assisting Property Managers with insurance queries. Drafting responses to clients, insurers and brokers
  • Providing training, support and advice to the company in all insurance related matters, ensuring that these are reported and escalated as necessary to the insurers accordingly.
  • Dealing with any Professional Indemnity Liability Claims for the Company

Insurance Coordination -

  • Liaising between insurers and client directors in respect of insurance renewals and any subsequent increases or savings detailed within the renewal documentation
  • Liaising with brokers and recommending new introducers, subject to approval of the Chairman
  • Obtaining alternative insurance cover tenders for Block, Engineering, Director & Officer, Public Liability and Material Damage Insurance
  • Obtaining quotes placing new business with insurers and arranging renewals for: Engineering, Director & Officer, Public Liability
  • Ensure that all policies are suitable for the clients' requirements making sure also, where possible, that the best interests of the Company are protected and a subrogation waiver is included

Claims Handling -

  • Managing claims team and ensuring the appropriate fees charged to client upon settlement.Is this time costs. Making sure, where possible, that the best interests of the Company are protected.
  • Ensuring that Claims Handlers are dealing with claims efficiently at all times
  • Notifying Insurers of any new claims. This will include providing full details of claims to the insurers/brokers, liaising between insurers and Property Managers, record and information gathering and responding to claimant solicitor's letters.

Administration -

  • Updating Qube and other internal systems when insurances are renewed, ensuring that the relevant documentation is filed appropriately
  • Processing renewal papers for Chairman's review, including preparation of Insurance Renewal Checklist for each policy.
  • Distributing copies of insurance Schedules to lessees
  • Where the company has arranged the insurance for a client, send renewal documentation to client directors in accordance with FCA procedures
  • Distributing engineering reports to the relevant Property Manager

Person Specification:

Essential -

  • CII Diploma CERT in Insurance, or equivalent
  • Sound understanding of FCA compliance requirements
  • A full understanding of the residential property insurance market
  • Customer awareness and client focussed
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent time management and an ability to meet deadlines
  • A willingness to learn new skills and take CII exams

Desirable -

  • Pre-existing knowledge of block and other property insurance
  • Experience of residential property administration, in particular, a sound understanding of residential leases and their legal provision
