The Import Compliance Specialist for the United Kingdom (UK) will assist serve as the operational support for our business in the UK for import compliance. This role is required to collaborate with relevant functions to create and support compliant customs programs in the UK. It will require being on site at our Springfields Location in the UK most days.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Work with business partners in Fuels, Nuclear Parts, and Field Services on their customs transactions into the UK
- Work with Brokers on all import and export transactions to ensure instructions to ensure instructions are accurate, complete, and compliantly filed/declared
- Transactional reviews of all imports for accuracy and completeness
- Track & recordkeeping the following for the UK business: Temporary imports, legally required recordkeeping, traceability, bills of discharge, declarations by conduct, etc.
- Cross functional team interface on transactional work
- Import support for sourcing
- Required Customs reporting and gathering information for UK government queries and actions
- Provide information and guidance on classification, valuation, and origin on all transactions
**Qualifications**:
- Customs Broker Certifications or equivalent desired
- Broad technical knowledge of UK’s import and customs laws and regulations.
- Experience with UK’s Customs’ Agencies required.
- Demonstrated ability to work across international regions and cultures.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly, proactively (timely), and concisely communicate with corporate, regional and local management, as well as business partners, and customs agencies.
- Work independently in a fast-paced collaborative environment within deadlines.
- Adaptive, flexible, and able to function effectively in a highly complex global environment with a proven ability to multi-task.
