Support Time and Resilience (STAR) Worker, Band 4. Redbridge CAMHS (Also known as Redbridge Emotional Wellbeing Mental Health Service)
This is an exciting opportunity for a Support Time and Resilience (STAR) Worker to join Redbridge CAMHS (EWMHS) at The Grove, Grove Road, Chadwell Heath, Essex, RM6 4XH.
The STAR Worker is a role that evolved as part of the Children and Young People's Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (CYP-IAPT) which Redbridge CAMHS/ EWMHS has implemented. The post holder will work within Redbridge CAMHS as part of a multidisciplinary team, they will be responsible for delivering assessments and evidence-based brief interventions (e.g. psychoeducation/ therapy groups and workshops or guided self-help) for clients experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties under clinical supervision.
The post holders will support the clinical work of Redbridge CAM
HS by assisting in screening and conducting telephone triage assessments in our Emotional Wellbeing Hub (Triage) team, including liaising with referrers, families and other agencies as well as through outcomes collection and data management.
The post holder will
- work in close partnership with schools, school nurses and with our partner agencies to provide best support to young people and to promote positive mental health in schools.
- assist various pathways with administrative tasks, audit, evaluation, data collection/ analysis and produce performance reports related to specialist treatment pathways, i-Thrive model and Children and Young People’s IAPT.
- work with young people and families from different cultural backgrounds, using interpreters when necessary, and should be committed to equal opportunities. The post holders will also work closely with colleagues and partners in the Local Authority, education settings and other partner agencies.
- have regular supervision from a senior clinician including 1:1 or group supervision and have ample CPD opportunities in the team such as weekly multi-disciplinary discussions and monthly CBT peer supervision.

Our team has good links with Mental Health Nursing training courses, Family therapy training courses and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology training courses (Institute of Psychiatry, University College London, University of East London and University of Essex). We also offer clinical placements to Trainee Clinical Psychologists. Clinical research, teaching and specialist interests are actively encouraged.
