**Governance Officer** required by an established leading not for profit sector organisation based in the City of London. The post holder will provide a full range of administrative support and services in the governance and compliance function.You will deliver a high quality, proactive and efficient service, reporting to the Governance Manager and working closely with colleagues to provide an integrated and holistic service in delivering efficient and effective committee meetings of the organisation.
This is full time, permanent role paying circa £34-35k per annum plus excellent benefits, currently remote working (hybrid working mix of office and remote once their offices reopen) - offices located in the City of London.
Duties include:

- Support all member elections including; General Assembly, Vice-President; Board of Trustees and any ballots required
- Provide committee secretariat support to various committees and panels.
- Support the delivery of General Assembly meetings
- Arrange and co-ordinate board and committee meetings including sourcing venues and monitoring budgets
- Prepare, draft, and circulate papers and agendas, write and distribute meeting minutes and co-ordinate follow up actions
- Support effective induction programmes for new members of General Assembly and the Board of Trustees
- Support and undertake company secretarial duties for various charities and companies as directed by the Governance Manager
- Support appointments to Committees, Panels and wider governance bodies as required
- Take responsibility for updating and maintaining Governance pages on the website
- Prepare briefings and reports for the Senior Executive Team, Presidential Team and Board of Trustees as appropriate
- Manage the contracts register
- Maintain the register of interests
- Manage the gifts and hospitality register
- Assist with arrangements for presentations of Service Awards and Honorary Memberships
- Participate in corporate projects from time to time
- Produce management information reporting relating to Board and committee statistics
- To consider the potential data protection implications before using or storing any personal data, referring to the Data Protection Policy or seeking advice as necessary
- Deputise for the Governance Manager as required

Key requirements:

- Recent experience of working in governance
- Experience of formal meeting and agenda management and minute taking for committees and groups
- Working with senior managers and directors up to Board level
- Experience of running a Secretariat function
- Experience of coordinating elections in accordance with constitutional requirements
- Experience of working in a professional membership organisation or the third sector
- Experience of using board portals
