Position Summary

EDO (European Display Organisation) offers leadership, guidance, expertise and support of the sales & product marketing strategies for Samsung Electronics Display across Europe.

The Display business is one of the fastest growing, most profitable and most diverse business units within Samsung Electronics. Covering a variety of products and target customers, including ultra-high net worth individuals, multi-national corporations through to individual consumers, a day in the Display team is rarely the same. As a central point in Europe we help to translate the global strategy into local execution through product, sales, retail and marketing in order to deliver excellence in execution. As a team of approx. 32 people we have a genuine passion for innovation and a desire to propel Samsung to a true number one position in the category across Europe.

Role and Responsibilities

Samsung´s European Display Organisation is fully linked up with Samsung´s 8 European Subsidiaries. We are recognised as the specialists in our designated markets and verticals. The key Objective of the person joining is to become part of Samsung´s European Technical Consulting Team providing mechanical design services for our LED and Smart Signage products

The key objectives include the support of subsidiaries in the process answering project specific mechanical questions, problem solving in the field of mechanical design by developing custom solutions in cooperation with Samsung´s international product design teams & Samsung partners, developing standard adaptations for defined installation scenarios for Samsung LED and LCD products and support during tender bidding process.- You will work with Samsung colleagues providing direct support and advice on technical matters relating to the mechanical adaptation of our products- You will provide support to end customers and system integrators on all mechanical matters.- You will coordinate with HQ on new and existing products.- You will present new solutions to internal staff and external customers.- You will support marketing activities and attend promotional events as the need arises.- You may at times along with other team members be required to provide on site supervision during the building and installation process ensuring that our products are installed to a high standard.- Create Drawings as the need arises.

Skills and Qualifications

To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Relevant Technical Degree- Proficiency in Industry Standard drawing packages such as Autocad with demonstrable skills in 3d drawing.- Confirmed working experience as a Mechanical Designer in the LED Display or AV sector- Industry specific knowledge- Willingness to travel (estimated 40% of time away in Europe and occasionally international)- Excellent client facing and internal communication skills- Excellent written and verbal skills- Ability to organise and prioritise the work- Proactive approach - able to think solutions through with mínimal intervention

What does success look like?-
- In the first six months it would be encouraged that you would have a good understanding of the LED and LCD product range and understand the mechanical requirements set out by HQ to ensure products are installed correctly.- Success will be measured by the product knowledge gained and the quality of the work output.-
- It is expected that you will support these requests and in parallel proactively seek to improve what we offer both in the products we supply but also in the services we as a team supply.
