Role Overview:
Supports the Construction Manager to deliver the main data centre build along with all supporting infrastructure.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Support or manage the detailed design and construction of Data Centre projects and associated infrastructure within budget and programme, including procurement, budget allocation, design and supply chain management, contract administration, risk management, H&S compliance, commissioning, certification, and IST.
- Demonstrate budgetary and programme control across complex projects.
- Ensure all works (internal and contractor) meet design and quality standards.
- Set up and manage support functions for planning, tracking, reporting, quality, and communication.
- Assist in managing the design process from RIBA Stage 3 onwards.
- Produce consolidated reports for the Head of Construction, covering milestones, key issues, risks, and costs.
- Review project activities for compliance with procedures and standards.
- Manage stakeholder relationships (Clients, Architects, Designers, Contractors) to ensure strong project delivery.
- Identify and report technical and commercial risks related to site works.
- Ensure all site works comply with health and safety procedures.
- Review and approve RAMS for live-side construction works.
- Follow up and close out relevant Sysaid incidents on live-side projects.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- University Engineering Degree with site level experience (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering)
- 3 - 5 years' experience in Design and Build
- Prior experience in datacentre construction
- Strong team ethic is vital, comfortable working across departments
- Self-starter, able to identify and proactively manage situations as they arise
- Possess the ability to organize large amounts of information into a coherent and meaningful format while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good people engagement skills; able to get full co-operation from the team.
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite of software including TEAMs and SharePoint Knowledgeable with Project Management software and best practise (Microsoft Project or Asta Powerproject preferred)
- Develop a thorough knowledge of company procedures and standards.
