**What to Expect**
The Senior Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist, Energy Deployment, is responsible for driving, influencing, and achieving EHS excellence, risk reduction, and regulatory compliance throughout the design and deployment of Commercial projects in the EMEA Region. This role also supports the development and execution of global initiatives, including electrical safety, ergonomics, fire protection, and others. Reporting directly to the EMEA EHS Leader, this position will engage with senior regional leadership, customers, operational teams, contracting partners, regulatory authorities, and various departments within Tesla to facilitate continuous improvement of our EHS programs.
Based in either Paris, London, or Manchester, this position will support regional and international projects virtually and in-person to cover the geographical reach of the business.
**What You'll Do**
- Develop and maintain a partnership with and become a trusted advisor on EHS matters to operational leaders, customers, and contracting partners
- Serve as an expert in technical areas (e.g., electrical safety, fire protection) to identify critical risks, including legal compliance requirements and responsibilities in all phases of product deployment, operation, and service
- Advise on specific matters in the safe design, engineering, installation, construction, and commissioning phases of a project
- Coordinate with Operational teams to implement learnings from commissioning, preventative maintenance, repair, and normal operations to improve our upstream products
- Lead the development, implementation, and execution of short and long-term plans for Tesla's global EHS programs, supporting and learning from adjacent leads in APAC and NAM regions.
- Be a visible model in the field to teach, train, and coach business teams and support staff on fundamental EHS concepts and principles to reduce risk
- Influence, inspire, and empower business teams and staff to minimize the risk per our Tesla EHS vision, values and principles
- Respond to and investigate EHS events and support learning from events by determining causes and preventative actions with management and business teams.
**What You'll Bring**
- Extensive experience in construction-phase Health and Safety, including country-specific credentials for UK (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, CSCS), France (e.g., Carte BTP), and/or other
- Familiarity with electrical safety regulatory systems and policies in the UK and/or EU, including certification or training in relevant areas in UK (HVAP/HVSAP), France (H0/H1/H2), Belgium (AREI BA4/BA5), and/or other
- Extensive experience working directly in electric power generation, transmission, storage, or distribution industries. Detailed knowledge of the functionality of lithium-ion battery storage and/or in-depth familiarity with Electrical Standards is preferred.
- Practical knowledge of civil construction safety, including electrical and environmental risk management
- Hands-on experience in developing and implementing safety programs, coupled with a demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced, global organization with a 'first-principles' approach.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders, including problem-solving, goal setting, and building collaborative relationships across all management levels.
- Expert in MS Office 365 Suite, including SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Hold a valid vehicle driving license
- Professional fluency in English is essential; additional languages (French, Dutch, German, Polish, etc) are preferred
