**About The Role**

As a Housing Support Worker, you will support people with a history of drug and/or alcohol issues, who are working towards abstinence and living in our supported housing projects. You will be assessing need, preparing tenancy support plans, and supporting our tenants to achieve their individual goals.

Part of your role will include advocating for residents where appropriate. This could include helping people to arrange and attend appointments such as GP, probation and/or other drug and alcohol services.

You will encourage and support residents to live as fully and independently as possible within the local community, providing emotional and practical support with the aim to move people into more suitable accommodation.

You will be required to work on a rota basis covering weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

**About you**

You will have some experience working in a support role, but we will provide you with the knowledge and training you need to work with clients in a holistic and person-centred way.

You are compassionate, energetic, reliable, and committed to improving the health and wellbeing of those experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping.

Patience and resilience will come naturally to you. You should have good interpersonal and listening skills as you will be supporting people with challenging mental health problems.

Above all, you will be enthusiastic and have a genuine desire to support people to transform their lives.
