**SSE Energy Markets** commercially optimises all of SSE’s market-based Business Unit assets in the wholesale energy markets, securing value on behalf of these businesses by trading in wholesale energy markets and managing volatility through active risk management.

Our graduate programme provides real hands-on experience through a rotation of placements in different projects and teams within SSE Energy Markets. These could include Prompt Trading, Gas Storage, Energy Economics, Advanced Analytics, Weather and Curve Trading. Throughout the 2-year programme, you will have the support a Graduate Manager and a business mentor, who will provide guidance and support to enable you to reach your full potential.

Our graduates work collaboratively in a variety of contexts, while also taking ownership of their role by working under their own direction to drive action forward. A key principle of the graduate programme is continuous professional development and SSE has built a learning culture where value is placed on learnings that go beyond the immediate task. The programme will support your career development into a permanent role with SSE that reflects your experience and passion.

Our graduates are agile in their thinking and seek to address knowledge gaps. You should be comfortable working to and setting stretching individual targets and using your own initiative to overcome challenges.

You’ll have a minimum of a 2:2 in one of the following degree disciplines: Economics, Maths, Data Science, Engineering, Meteorology.
