The Role

**REPORTS TO: Group Director of Policy and External Affairs**

To inform the Groups growth plans, you will prepare analysis and develop the Groups energy policy positions; shape and influence energy policy, regulatory regimes, and support mechanisms that underpin investment decisions in respect of the deployment of renewable generation, storage technologies, and the development of grid infrastructure. The role also involves engaging with external stakeholders, policy makers, trade bodies, and other industry participants.

Main Responsibilities

Responsible for developing energy policy positions on a range of issues across the future development of the energy system for the deployment of renewable generation and long duration storage technologies and the development of grid infrastructure to inform Group ambitions and growth plans.

Prepare consultation responses, insights, briefings and analysis on the development of the energy markets and associated policy frameworks taking account of cross cutting areas such as market arrangements and support mechanisms, grid regulation/charging, consenting regimes, supply chain, community investment and potential areas for innovation.Support in the development of engagement plans to influence policy stakeholders.Engage with trade association working groups and maintain a strong network of contacts and relationships with industry participants, stakeholders, external consultants.
- Ability to manage/develop 1-2 energy policy analysts carrying out supporting research and analysis.
