Practice Educator Midwife

Working under the leadership of the Practice Development Team, the post holder will support the quality of the clinical learning environment for preceptor midwives including those recruited from outside of the UK to ensure a high standard of care delivery through best clinical practice.
The post holder will promote high standards of professional practice and the delivery of quality care within the corporate policies, protocols and guidelines. Take forward key practice developments and implementation of quality initiatives in achieving excellence in clinical care / practice.
The clinical educator will encourage the development of a learning culture where lifelong learning is seen as integral to clinical practice and will positively contribute to the development of a workforce fit for purpose.
- To be the identified link in practice for all preceptor midwives and to promote a culture of supporting practice throughout all areas in maternity
- Maintain presence in the maternity clinical area by delivery direct care
- To provide high quality evidence based midwifery care for all patients
- Acting as an effective role model to promote high quality safe care
- Act as a mentor for learners
- Participate in formal and informal teaching sessions
- Participate in the induction of newly appointed / qualified staff
- To assist in the creation of an affective learning environment.
- Ensure that any concerns related to clinical practice are Identified and raised with the Practice Facilitator
